About myself...
I have been interested in weather since I was 8 yrs old. Since obtaining my B.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Kansas in 1988, I have worked as a meteorologist in both the private and public sectors. My experiences have included some broadcasting (television and radio), including weather forecasts and warnings, as well as local and national interviews regarding high impact weather events. Most of my career has been with the National Weather Service, starting in the Chicago/Romeoville office, then to Louisville, KY and most of my career as a lead forecaster/meteorologist in Wichita, KS. I have worked many high impact events during my career including tornado outbreaks, flash flood events, heat waves and Winter storms. I plan on continuing to provide weather forecast information to the people in the Great Plains even as I head into life after serving in my NWS capacity. Weather is in my blood and is not only a hobby but a life long passion!
